Our Mission
Gay Naturists International (GNI) is dedicated to supporting and enriching the lives of male naturists by hosting and sponsoring events that celebrate community, authenticity, and body freedom. We provide valuable information and resources to individuals and local clubs, fostering connection and shared experiences. Beyond our events, GNI serves as a strong, visible voice for gay naturists—advocating for naturist values, promoting public education about naturism, and working to advance the interests of naturists on a global scale.

A Message from the President
Welcome and thank you for visiting Gay Naturists International.
Many come to know GNI through The Gathering. It's our signature event and for 39 years it has introduced thousands of men to the freedom, community, and self-acceptance that social nudism offers. I love our event and I just attended my 14th year where we welcomed 480+ men, including 100 first-time attendees.
As I step into this office, I want to talk about something bigger: what GNI is, beyond any single week on the calendar.
Our mission is simple, but it's ambitious:
Gay Naturists International's mission is to serve as a resource to male naturists by hosting and sponsoring men's naturist events and providing information and resources to individuals and local clubs. In addition, GNI is a voice for gay naturists in wider naturist efforts to educate society about naturism and to advance the interests of naturists worldwide.
Read that closely, and you'll notice it's really four commitments, not one:
- Hosting and sponsoring events - this is where we've always been strong, and where you likely met us.
- Providing information and resources to individuals - for the guy who's curious about naturism but doesn't know where to start, or the longtime member looking for guidance, wherever they are in the world.
- Supporting local clubs - helping the smaller, regional communities that do the day-to-day work of keeping gay naturism alive between our larger gatherings.
- Being a voice for gay naturists in the wider naturist world - making sure our community is seen, heard, and represented as naturism advances as a whole.
Like many volunteer-run organizations, GNI has felt the effects of the broader economic, social, and political climate over the past several years. We're glad to say that's beginning to turn around. We recently welcomed someone into the dedicated clubs coordinator role, and it's already making a difference. But other key areas, like building out resources for individuals new to naturism, are still waiting for the hands to fill them. That's the honest state of things.
But I see real opportunity here, not a shortfall. These are exactly the areas where a renewed push can make the biggest difference for our members, and I'm committed to finding the people and the momentum to make it happen. Part of that momentum must come from welcoming a new generation into GNI. Our membership has skewed older for years, and a community's long-term health depends on renewal. So, bringing in more members under 40 is a priority I'm putting front and center, not a side project.
Over the next year, you'll see us focus on:
- Resources for individuals - clearer, more accessible information for anyone curious about naturism, wherever they are in that journey and wherever they are in the world.
- A dedicated clubs coordinator - now in place and already strengthening our connection to local clubs, with a focus on keeping the club directory accurate, current, and making sure clubs are properly linked back to GNI online.
- A growing voice in the broader naturist movement - making sure gay naturists have a seat at the table as naturism advocates for itself worldwide.
- Outreach to a younger generation - actively welcoming more members under 40, so GNI's community and its future keeps growing.
None of this means our events become less important. If anything, they'll be stronger for being part of something larger: a GNI that shows up for its members every day of the year, not just at our gatherings.
I'm genuinely excited about this chapter. Thank you for being part of this community, and for giving me the chance to help lead it forward.

A STATEMENT ON SEXUALITY
GNI acknowledges that sex is natural, but sex is not equated with naturism. GNI respects all of its members for their individuality, whether or not they choose to express their sexuality, and shall endeavor to respect individual sensibilities as may be appropriate, and encourages its members to do the same. GNI additionally encourages all sexually active individuals to practice safer sex.

What is naturism?
Naturism is a lifestyle that embraces social nudity in a respectful, non-sexualized environment. It promotes body acceptance, self-confidence, and a deeper connection with nature and others. At GNI, naturism is also a powerful form of community and self-expression among gay and queer men.
Is GNI only for gay men?
GNI is primarily a community for gay, bisexual, and queer men who enjoy naturism, but we welcome all who identify male. Our events, especially The Gathering, was organized to provide a safe and affirming space for men to enjoy social nudity, make friends, and build lasting connections. While our mission is specific, we stand in solidarity with all naturist communities promoting respect, inclusion, and body positivity.
What kind of events does GNI host?
GNI is best known for The Gathering—our annual flagship event bringing together hundreds of gay naturists from around the world. In addition, we support local club events, retreats, and smaller regional gatherings throughout the year. These events may include workshops, dance parties, talent shows, yoga classes, nature hikes, pool parties, and more—all clothing-optional and designed for fun and freedom.
Is nudity required at your events?
Nudity is encouraged but never forced. We create environments where social nudity is comfortable, body-positive, and normalized—but everyone is free to participate at their own pace. Most members find that their comfort grows quickly once surrounded by such a welcoming and accepting community. The benefits are experienced immediately by every individual who has experienced nudity for the first time with our organization. They find themselves welcomed with open arms and friendship, and the self positive and self-acceptance is immediately felt by our new members.
Do I need to be in a certain shape or age to attend?
Absolutely not. GNI welcomes men of all ages, backgrounds, body types, and identities within the LGBTQ+ spectrum. Our focus is on self-acceptance and authentic connection—not physical appearance. You don’t need a “model body” to belong. You just need to bring your true self.
How can I get involved or become a member?
You can join GNI directly through our website to access member benefits, exclusive content, event announcements, updates, and pricing. If you’re interested in volunteering, starting a local group, or becoming more involved in leadership or outreach, we’d love to hear from you. GNI is powered by its members.
What are the benefits of being a GNI member?
