Photos and Video help GNI preserve meaningful moments, celebrate body acceptance, and share the strength of our community. Sharing member focused media is practiced with consent, dignity, and care.
GNI highly regards the personal privacy of every member. Being present at a GNI event does not, by itself, grant anyone permission to photograph or publish a recognizable image of you.
Member preferences are communicated through registration choices, badges, posted zones, and event-specific notices. Those preferences are expected to be seen, understood, and honored.
GNI photography should make members feel celebrated—not exposed. Courtesy and direct communication remain essential in every photo-approved setting.
These three safeguards help members understand where photography may occur and how individual preferences are protected.
Images published by GNI come from official GNI photographers, authorized event photographers, or approved member submissions. Cameras may be used only in photo-approved areas and designated photo activities.
Members who select “No Photo” at registration receive a red-tagged badge—a red badge, holder, dot, or stripe. Photographers must not photograph a red-tagged member without that member’s direct permission.
GNI identifies activities where official photography is planned. Designated photo opportunities are intended for members who choose to participate and wish to be photographed.
Cameras and photosphere is only permitted by authorized GNI photographers. Our professionals know to look for our designated badges that make member preferences visible.
When a member knowingly poses for an official GNI photographer or participates in a clearly identified GNI photo opportunity, the resulting image may be used by GNI in its website, member communications, galleries, publications, social media, promotional materials, or historical archives, consistent with the applicable event notice and policy.
GNI also uses best efforts to protect anonymity in editorial and photo credits. Names, when used, are generally shown as first name only unless permission is provided with our member.
Contact a GNI Board or Staff member as soon as possible during an event, or contact GNI online. GNI may request removal of unauthorized content and may enforce event rules when a policy is knowingly disregarded.
